Hi, I’m Trev. I’m the owner of The Grove Mill. We’re based in Pittsburgh PA, but work with businesses, just like yours, worldwide.
We’ll be working together to build a fabulous brand and website for your amazing business. I’ve been building websites on Squarespace for many years, so together we will create something you're proud to show off to your clients and customers.
My mission is to provide you with a strategic, SEO-optimised, contemporary website and branding that reflects you and your business. I want to make this a fun and exciting experience without fuss or stress.

in the beginning
What is your background?
It’s been a bit of a journey to get here, if I’m honest, and not just physically, as I’ve moved to Pittsburgh, PA, from the UK. A designer at heart, I’ve spent 30-plus years in Architecture, designing Houses, Offices, Hospitals, and Shops, to name but a few. In fact, it’s Architecture that led me into web design and branding in the first place. I created my first website while working for a housing developer 15 years ago. It was for a subsidiary of theirs because they didn’t want to employ a developer, so I was designated for some reason. In those days, it was all coding, which I can honestly say was not for me!
A while later, I came across Squarespace, which for me was a complete game-changer. It gave me the opportunity to express my design side without having to spend hours coding, or more realistically, looking up how to code what I wanted. I made a couple of small sites for friends, mainly just for fun, but I could see a future in it if the opportunity turned up.

how it happened
What was it that led to becoming a website designer?
It was the Pandemic, of all things, that ultimately provided that opportunity. I was furloughed for five long months and started helping a friend with some drawings for his surveying business. He told me that he was being offered some work to provide drawings for home extensions, but because he was a Building Surveyor, he was missing out on prospective work. This prompted launching an Architectural Services business for him and to raise awareness, this needed a brand and a website. Like a lot of people, I’d been doing courses in lockdown and had chosen to dive deep into Squarespace and web design/branding.
It was while creating a brand and website for my friend that I realised that I was enjoying it far more than drawing buildings. It provided the creative outlet I craved, that I was struggling to get from Architecture. This is how The Grove Mill was born. I’m excited about this venture and hope I can bring some of that excitement to you as we bring your business to life!
A while later, I met my now wife, and decided to move to her home city of Pittsburgh, PA. Working with small businesses is a real passion for me, and the opportunity to take this business with me and begin a new life was an amazing opportunity. The Grove Mill is now truly international!!
